Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress who hails from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic family. Jacqueline's father Elroy is from Sri Lanka (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. Her siblings include two brothers and one older sister. Due to unrest in the country, her parents moved to Bahrain during the 1980s. After finishing school in Bahrain she received an Scholarship at the University of Sydney to pursue the Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. She also attended an institute called the Berlitz School of Foreign Languages, which allowed her to improve her French, Arabic and Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006 and she competed as Miss Universe 2006 also. In 2006 she won her the Miss Sri Lanka title. After that, she went on television as a host of the show about Sri Lankan businesses called Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the child of former badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and grew up in Bangalore. When she was a teenager she played in national level badminton events, but she backed off the sport and became a fashion designer. Padukone comes from Mangalore and her native language is Konkani. Padukone Village is located in Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District in Karnataka within India. The father of her, Prakash Padukone, is a retired badminton player of global repute. Her mother is a travel agent.
